Right, I forgot how much of their ranking is inherited versus based on merit, but that's an excellent point. I probably need to reread Winter Turning to get my IceWing facts all straight.

Edit: Apparently I forgot to hit post earlier but I skimmed through the wiki and you are right, they have a totally separate ranking as dragonets from their parents so I think that actually works really well.
