Welcome
Jade Mountain Academy welcomes everyone who walks through the doors, whether they are here of their own choice or by order of their queen or parent. All new students and teachers will have received a map of the school, their schedule (prone to change due to the magical nature of the school), and school rules. With the war still fresh in everyone's minds, tensions are still running high, but everyone is doing their best to make Jade Mountain Academy a peaceful place for all tribes. While it may run like a typical school, the unique make-up of students and teachers make it far from typical.
Prompts
Dorm Life
Perhaps you're used the sharing barracks with other soldiers or dragonets, or maybe you've always had your own room. Regardless, now that you're here it is clear you're expected to share your space with others, most likely from tribes other than your own. Whether these dragons will be your best friends or worst nemeses is all up to you. Upon entering the school, you'll be directed to your dormitory to drop off any personal items and meet your future roommates. Each dorm has a designated space for each dragon, but that doesn't mean there won't be squabbles over who gets the bed by the window, or if someone brought their obnoxious pet.
Class is in Session
At the end of the day learning, or teaching, is what you're all here for. Everyone has their own class schedule, but no matter when your class starts you're expected to be punctual. Even the teachers. Especially the teachers. Some classes may be routine lectures, but you never know when you'll have a pop quiz, paired flying exercises, or collaborative art projects. Every day is a bit unique.
A Place of Study
The library is a hub for student activity, with tables and study nooks throughout, and is open at almost all hours. It's a popular spot for study groups, though of course quiet discussion is encouraged so as not to disturb other students. The tall racks of scrolls offer a plethora of reading material on a wide variety of subjects. Though some scrolls may be in higher demand as tests approach, and maybe you weren't the fastest one to check it out. Hopefully the person who was is generous enough to lend you a claw.

Dante | Devil May Cry
1. Dorm Life
Teachers had their own places to sleep, but Raptor knew there would be lots and lots of squabbling among the students. Someone's gonna be displeased with sharing living quarters with other tribes, someone's got a complaint against another's pets, grudges from the war will flare up...all sorts of nastiness. That's why the Skywing's volunteering to be the (metaphorical) adult in the room to sort out any issues as they come and, hopefully, break up any fights before they escalate.
In order to engage a little and help spur friendly chatter among the students, Raptor's approaching and greeting the occasional dragon, whether they're a student or a teacher. "Hey there. You looking forward to classes starting? Everyone's gonna learn something from here; any ideas what you wanna learn?"
2. Class is in Session.
Raptor went ahead and arranged a field trip today to the Rainforest Kingdom, no doubt as part of his ongoing lessons on Pyrrhian culture. The students also got to stretch their wings and fly, something some may prefer over others, but there's a reason for that. After a moment of having his students wait outside, they'll hear the professor's voice calling to them.
"Class! Gather 'round; I got that surprise I've been hyping up." Carefully, the skywing steps through the trees and reveals...sloths. Several sloths either on his head, his spikes or even on his wings. "See these cute little guys? They're sloths. Queen Glory was willing to loan me a few for study on the condition the class be held here instead. Can't drag them too far from home, y'know? And no, you can't eat 'em."
The remark is met with a briefly sharp look before Raptor offers the sloths to the students one at a time, insisting on careful handling and letting the little animals get to know you first.
"They're a Rainwing favorite as pets. They spend a lot of time in treetops and a lot more time sleeping. My kind of roommate. They've shared the forest with Rainwings for a long time...so long that they're pretty comfortable around dragons. They say if you wake up with a sloth on you after sun time, then that one's chosen you and you can keep it."
A pause, then his spikes perk up a little.
"I'm serious about not eating them. Believe me, you're swallowing a hairball if you do. Also Glory would take my head."

2!
He's still listening though, and his own spikes perk up slightly at the professor's statement about swallowing a hairball.
"Does that mean...you've tried eating one before, professor?"
no subject
"Experience is the best teacher and I can't say I've made only smart decisions. On the other claw, it means I can recommend what not to do."
It's a good thing the sloths can't understand him right now, otherwise the one Raptor's rolling around his fingers would be far less willing to be so close to him.
no subject
"I'll be sure to come to you for guidance on which animals we shouldn't try eating, then."
He smiles a little, watching the sloths still clinging to the professor. "They really seem to like you."
no subject
"Can't say anything in particular about me draws 'em in. They might know I like sleeping in and eating late, but from a glance?"
He's looking over the other sloths either moving about or resting on him, the amused snort he gives paired with a shrug. "But that's the thing with animals: they're smarter than we give 'em credit. They kinda just...know if they can trust someone."
